The Roadrunners are no longer the only team playing hockey
in Landon Arena. A team has been established
in the North American 3 Hockey League, which is the tier three version of the
NAHL. The Topeka Capitals started
playing games in the Kansas Expocentre in October. The Roadrunners play in the NAHL, so this new
team could potentially feed them future players as they develop through the
Capitals. The growth of hockey in Topeka
is something that shows great potential for the sport in our city. With the semi professional organizations,
youth hockey has opportunities to become more prominent. Topeka has the opportunity to become a hub
for hockey, and this all starts with the efforts of the Roadrunners and
Capitals organizations.
