This past weekend the Roadrunners were in action for two
games against the Springfield Jr. Blues in Landon Arena. The series did not go well for the ‘Runners
as they lost both games in overtime shootouts.
In an interview with the Capitol Journal’s Roadrunners beat writer
Rickie Peterson Jr., Head Coach Scott Langer discussed his team and their
mentality moving forward. “We’re just going to keep working and plug away and
get some points. I think things are going to be good. I like the team; I like
our character.” These losses result in one point each, taking the Roadrunners
(5-2-2) to a total of 12 points through 9 games, ranking them second in the
NAHL South standings behind Wichita Falls (6-1-1) with 13 points. This weekend,
the team is featuring “Pink the Rink” for breast cancer awareness. The squad will be wearing pink uniforms, and
those planning to attend are asked to wear pink to show their support for those
fighting the battle against breast cancer.
